Amma launches India’s logo for Civil 20

Representing the flames of hope, self-motivation, and selfless service, Amma launched the logo for India’s Civil 20 engagement group (C20). India is this year’s official host for the G20 Summit, a gathering of the leaders of most of the world’s largest economies. The Summit will take place in New Delhi in September.

Amma is the Chair of C20, a branch of G20 that functions as a platform for civil society organisations (CSOs) on a global scale to bring forth non-government and non-business voices to the G20 leaders. Other committee members include Sri M of the Satsang Foundation as a Participant; Sudha Murthy, Chair, Infosys Foundation as a Participant; Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini as Secretariat; and the Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari as Institutional Partner.

C20’s tagline is #YouAreTheLight, which is a call to every member of civil society to come together, make their own paths, find solutions, and resolve issues through collective effort. Upon inaugurating the logo, Amma said:

“Amma bows down to everyone, embodiments of pure Love and the Supreme Self. On this occasion of the launch of the C20 logo, Amma prays that this eminent venture brings transformation in human minds.

“May our actions speak louder than our words. May they create ripples of love, compassion, and respect in human hearts. As in the logo, may the lamps light up our hearts. May they illumine the world and all the sentient and insentient beings in it. Amma offers all of you in the Supreme.”

With the Govt of India having set its G20 agenda as ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, there is vast potential to join hands as noble human beings and seek solutions to the challenges the world faces at this critical time.

CSOs represent a wide range of issues, including the UN’s Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, and as such, they are one of the most powerful tools societies have to reach a vast spectrum of opinions, perspectives, and experiences. In advance of the G20 Summit, C20 will collaborate with hundreds of CSOs from around the world.
